Hi, I am Matthew Rose.

What began as a fun hobby and playful pastime, turned into a creative career and passion project. Unfulfilled by his work in construction, Matthew found his love for photography the moment he picked up a camera.

"I remember when I was given my first camera it was like this whole new world opened up to me and I fell in love. When I lost my first camera, I used my phone. I just wanted to be able to capture everything. I would wander and go around downtown taking photos of whatever I found interesting: all the places, people, random things, I just remember being hooked. I didn't want to stop."

In pursuit of his newfound passion, Matthew Rose dove in headfirst, dedicating his time to making photography a full-time gig. Over the years, Matthew mastered the art of light, emotion and visual storytelling. His dream became a reality after acquiring the Roses are Red studio at the corner of Caroline and William Street in the heart of Historic Downtown Fredericksburg. Since opening his space, Matthew Rose has captured love stories, business ventures and musical talent including FXBG's very own, Huntley.
